Exclamation Need help with "The Look"

next weekend im going to be putting a 3 inch pa body lift on my 2001 4x4 supercrew..i cuurently have 325/60r18 procomp xtreme all terrain tires on my truck and the look good...i was wondering if you guys think that the tires would start to look too small if i also buy a procomp rear add a leaf and crank the torsion bars for like 5 inches of total lift.. what do u guys think...33's with 5 inches of lift......Not enough tire?? or will she just look that much better???

thanks in advance for any advice or photos

I think the tires will look too small, but lots of people like that look. Would love to see some current pictures if you've got any...

I think you will be fine! You can always just get the 3inch body lift if your worried about it. You can crank the torsion bars to see what it will look like then you can put them back where they were afterwords.

I think it would look fine. I would skip the add-a-leaf however and just crank the torsion bars enough to level the truck.

I've got 6" of lift and run 33" tires. Well they are actually 285/70/17 but about the same thing. Check out my gallery.

I think "the look" is a matter of personal satisfaction myself. In my case, I bought my SCrew with 3" of body lift and 33's and I didn't think it looked right until I got my AR Diamondbacks and 35's. To me, the 33's didn't look like enough tire. Now I love the way it looks (and most importantly, drives).

Hey Wandell - love the new sig pic with the Expy!

o yeh..and one for wandell

wandell did u think that i should skip the add-a-leaf because that would almost be the straw that broke the camels back and make the tires look to small...or do u just think that it is unneccesary??

thanks in advance

Thumbs up I would recommend 35's....

If you are gettin the 3" bidy lift, then the 33's would be fine. I like the look of the 35's better though. If you plan on getting the add-a-leafs, I would definately go with 35's. I don't think that the add-a-leafs are necessary though. I probably wouldn't do it. You can re-gear, but you don't have to. I personally haven't re-geared and I am fine with the way my truck feels. It's all a matter of personal tastes. You can always re-gear later, if you feel you need it. You can check my gallery for pics. My gallery name is bradjohnson. Hope this helps.

I did a lot of reading around here (took me six months to decide between new 33's or change up to 35's)... I just didn't think the 33's filled the wheel wells enough and that they made the truck look too much like a big truck on tiny donuts. I just need thick and rugged for it to look right. I haven't regeared, but since I could afford it now I am thinking about doing it. I have the 5.4 so I have enough torque for the 35's, but the truck does bog a little on the 2nd gear shift unless I floor it. It's also slower off the line, but I'm not street racing in a 4x4 anyway. My concern is that I will start towing and I'll need to get the "pull" back again.

For me to get "the look" I wanted, it's worth wearing the 35's and regearing if I have to. For others, it may not be worth all that.

Here's a couple pics right after I got it with the faded Pythons and 33" ProComp all-terrains. I like it much better with the new Diamondbacks and 35" BFG mud-terrains.
