Wink LOW pro-file tire size 20"

I am about to embark on the journey of Tire and wheel buying. The rims are American Racing RTS 20" 311 series (a.k.a. Black series) . What I need to know is, what is the best tire size to get for these trucks, on this wheel 20" diameter, 8.5 width and +18mm offset(approx. 4.75" backspace).

The stock tire size on my truck is 275/60-17, or a 30" tall tire.

Hey, how is it up there in "Miama"?

It depends on if you are going to lower your truck or not.

I couldn't agree more with the wheel dimensions.

As bjh has already asked...suspension stock or lowered?

Also, is it a 2wd and what are you trying to accomplish?

going to lower 2 front 3 rear. Most likely. maybe 2.5 - 4. Going for the lowered street cruiser look.

These are the wheel I am looking at getting. This wheel on this truck.

let me know what you all think.

It is a 2wd.

It sounds like you are setting your truck up almost exactly like mine.

With the wheels specs you gave, you could run a 285/50 tire (max) and if you lower your suspension up to 2.5" in the front and 4" or so in the rear (to make it set level), everything will fit like a glove.

I ran and still runnin 275/45R20's. My truck is now lowered and looks better but I ran the same tire factory hieght. With the Charger, I going with a larger tire (Wider) in the rear with the next set. By the way, Don't know how good of tire they are, but General Grabbers are only $108.00 a piece at tire rack with this size.

I have been in the tire business nearly 20 years. If you leave it stock then 275/55R20. If your drop is 2-3' then a 285/50R20 and if your drop is farther than 3' then a 275/45R20. Good Luck

In chrome instead of black but you can get the idea. I'm running 275/45-20 Goodyears and am lowered 3.5/5 with the DJM kit.

looks real good Stephen00GT. I am hoping I like the look of the black on black on my '98. I am going to lower first then when my tires, which are 6 months old, need replaced I will order the new Wheels and tires. Thanks for posting pics, gives me a real good idea what mine will look like.
