For an offroad application, aka 4x4 I would go with the American Racing Wheels Teflon coated wheels. Their are quite a few of them now. 6 -7 different wheels at least. They look awsome and should be easy easy to clean.

I thought about black rims once but stayed with my OEM chrome due to limited funding (our car needs replaced). One I considered was the "Rock Crawler Series 97" by Xtreme Steel Wheels. They are in the "4 Wheel Parts" catalog or on the website www.4wheelparts.com. Never saw one in person though.
Do a search of the forums and you will find postings on black rims. I think black rims can look great on some trucks. You can still have some chrome from the centercaps and lugnuts. I looked at one type (don't remember which company) that looked fine at a distance but up close you could see a blue & red pinstripe around the edge. I thought that detracted from the look of it.

black rims

Ya i saw those teflon ones by american racing and did not like them that much. So far I have found black rims by xd series, helo wheels, moto metal and I found a 17 in the lexani virus that I really like, but is probably and arm and a leg and a truck.

You may also look at MB Gunner rims (discount tire).

Best!

Black Rims

So far here is a list for anyone else that maybe looking for black rims 16 or 17,s. XD series, Robby Gordon Wheels, Moto Metal 951, Helo Wheels, Lexani Virus, Ultrawheel baja champ 185B, and also Boze wheel I think you can pick a wheel then have it customized to your specs. Hope this helps anyone else looking for black rims. They are less common in the smaller sizes, cause lots of people even with 4X4's are going with big rims and street tires? Please feel free to add to my research.

They're American Racing series 767 and you can scratch the pinstriping off with your fingernail. Here they are with the pinstriping left on.

There were $37 a piece for the ranger. I'm getting another set for my beater150 (since the darn bolt spacing is different. grr)

Nice! I've been looking at the Mojaves myself.

If you don't mind me asking, what size, backspace, tire size, etc. and what lift?
