2wd F-150's came with three different size tires (excluding Lightning).
235/70R16, 255/70R16, and 275/60R17. If your truck does indeed have the 245/70R16, then I am guessing it was replaced at one time with the wrong size. With a stock rim, you could try the 255/70R16 or if you are upgrading go with the 275/60R17. They are actually both the identical height and it won't be necessary to reprogram the PCM should you go with the larger wheel. Of course, it all depends on what kind of look you want too. If you want the look of a 4wd then possible a 265/70R17. This is considerably taller than the others. Hope this helps you out. To determine what size your truck came with from the factory look at the sticker inside the drivers door jam.

just double checked and ya they are 16. tire has written on it" 265/75/r16. ive never replaced the rims on it and i bought new. as for the look, i want i guess the best of both worlds. something with some bling, but will look like there ready for mud at any time. i know i might be wishing but....
