Have you guys had problems out of BFG's espcially being bad form the factory? I had MIckey Thompson MTZ before and they were cheaper, quieter, etc. If I cant get a new tire I might get rid of them and try another brand.

maybe it some of the places, not to be rude but i work at a tire shop/front end shop and yes a few of the younger guys can not balance these that well, me personally work on front end stuff now but when a set of bigger tires come in i end up balancing. i have 285/75-16 on american racing rims and yes alot of weight but they balance out just fine. no vib or anything. there should be only ONE group of weights (or group of weights with all of them edge to edge) no spaces. sticky weights will balance out but yes they are not the MOST accurate way since it is not at the farthest outskirts of the rim.

Had my 35x12.5 18" BFG M/T's for about a month now....only drive on the highway back and forth to work (about 12 miles) everyday. Mine have felt great, travel upwards of 80 MPH. Its not as smooth as the Rugged Trails were (of course) but no shake.

Equal packets

I have used what is called equal packets to balance big tires before. They are mostly used for big truck tires, but i have used them on 26" rims and 35" mudders. You just drop them in the tire when mounting and drive. They break open and blance the wheel at all time while driving. Check with you local tire dealer and see if they can get them. I am in Phila. and have been able to get them.

Thank the Lord! I thought I was the only one with the shaking problem, and the tire guys in my neck of the woods made me think I was crazy or just bitchin too much. Had 35x12.5-17 BFG A/T, that shook the steering wheel back and fourth A LOT, at 55 to 65 mph. Had it back at the place I bought the tires and lift kit from 3 times to re-balance, still shook. Paid another tire shop to balance.... much better but still not 100% shake free. Took the truck in for 30 day check of the lift kit, told them I had to go pay to have it balanced correctly, but still a little shake, asked if could be bad tires? No way! they said, so they took it upon themselves to scrape off the weights and re-balance again and not tell me! Left the shop with the steering shaking bad again, drove straight back, asked them if they did anything to the wheels, then they admitted what they did because they didnt believe me. finally got them to warranty 2 of the 4 tires.

Now have Mickey Thompson MTZ, perfectly balanced the first time, go figure.

Ya I still have a shake not as bad since I got them road force balanced. I used to have MT MTZ on my old truck loved them. If they made a 12.5" wide in a 18" I would have them now.IM seriuosly debating on getting the 17" wheel so I can. I dont think I am going to get a new tire just becuase the dealer said it was out of round do yu guys?
