two of my buddies have them, 285/75/16's on their Chevy's and they seem to wear really well and they both really like them, I would get them myself but they don't make the size I want in the 17's. They look great too.

Probly have to buy them locally or possibly ebay.....they are just about impossible to find on the internet. I saw a post from a guy that works for a company that markets tires for them and he said they don't allow the internet tire companies to sell online.

Hawgman, what size was u wanting in a 17" they make anything from a 265,275, u to a 33/12.50/17 which is what i want to get... i called a local shop here and the 33/12.50/17 were $920 mounted and balanced, thats about $15 cheaper then the 285/70/17 BFG AT's are...

I would like to go up to a 33x12.50 but I dont want to get new rims ($) and if I am going to spend that much on tires then I dont want them wearing real quick. I wish they made them in 285's, I have never seen a set of 275's mounted but I am afraid that they are not going to fill up the wells enough.

whatdya think?

a 285/70/17 is actually a 33x11.50 and is recommended for 7.5 rims up, 33x12.50s are usually recommended on 8.5's on up.....

I just might, b/c I love those tires, I have wandered away from them for a while and looked at others but I think I will go back because they have always been my favorite!! We won't have to do any torsion bars or trimming will we, from what I understand it should be ok.

285's will fit without any modification necessary, this is what I recommend on the stock wheels.

the 33x12.5 will probably require trimming the valence or cranking the torsion bars...one or the other.

yeah I have gone through this before, I really want to go 33x12.50 but in all reality I probly will just go with 285's, I change my mind everyday..... I need somebody to just take my money and my truck and get some tires put on it......I want it to look as mean as possible without major mods....

I'm glad to see this post and hear that those who have the S/T's like them. I've decided to put them on my '01 4x4 KR Screw and get rid of the useless RTS's that came on the truck. In my case, I park in a basement garage with reduced clearance (roughly an inch between the top of the truck and the header of the garage door) so go bigger and taller is out of the question. I'm going to put the original 265/70R17 size on. I just need to decide between the E and C load range versions. Since I pull a couple of different trailers, I'm thinking I'll go with the Es and put up with a little rougher ride.
