Tires/Wheels

I'm trying to figure out the same thing for my new truck that I factory ordered a week ago. I want to put on the Helo Maxx 6 17x9 with BFG 285 70/17 but I am concerned about backspacing too.

This website says that the only 17" of these that will fit my 2006 FX4 is
17x9 6x135 18 offset.

What will this look like? I don't want the wheels to be sticking out a foot on each side either....just a couple of inches is ok I guess. Not trying to steal your thunder with this post but I'm hoping it will answer both of our questions.

I know that Helo makes a 17x9 for the newer trucks that looks perfect. I've seen several on here, I think ThumperMX113 has them. I'm not positive of the backspacing on those, but I think it is 5". The newer trucks use more backspacing than the older ones like mine do.

A +18 offset will tuck the wheels in pretty far, maybe farther than they are now. You probably need the ones with a -12 offset here: http://www.tiresdelivered.com/prodde...960212&cat=671
