Helo Maxx 6 help

Hello All,

I'm planning on picking up a set of Helo Maxx 6's for my '01 F150 4x4 (ORP).

They have two available in 17x9 (5-135) at tiresdelivered.com. The only difference is the offset, one is 10 and the other is -12. Can someone tell me which will work best for my truck?

Also, I'm looking for suggestions for tires. I currently have 265/70/17's. I'd like something that will fill up the wheel wells without rubbing. The height is stock except for cranked torsion bars.

TIA,
Jerry

I think you want the -12mm offset.

Thanks for the info Wandell!

The local wheel and tire shop seems to think I can fit BFG 315/70/17's without a lift. Can anyone confirm this? Will 315's be too much for the 4.6 with 3.55 gears?

You can fit 315's on stock wheels... And yes, I think your truck is going to be a slug with 315's. Mine was horrible before I did all the mods to it, and I only have 285's. I am considering re-gearing to 4:10'S OR 4:56'S. You will also have a lot of added wear on your driveline components with such big tires and a 3:55 rear gear. I would go with 33's for now. You still might be replacing your trans or rear end like me.... I'd opt for 285's and a gear change in the future. My trans shop told me that the tires defenetly sped up the wearing down of the clutches in my trans. So, $1700 later my truck is right...

I agree. I'd stick with 33's.

Ordered the Helo's today and I've got a set of BFG 285/70/17's lined up to install when the wheels get here.

I appreciate the help!

The new wheels and tires are finally on. I decided on the 295/70/17 Nitto Grapplers rather than the BFG's. What do you all think?

I am going to put a body lift on my truck and get new tires and rims. I am going to get 16x10 rims and 35x12.5 tires. Will I need to regear bad? I dont have the towing package but I do have the 5.4, exhaust and soon to have a programmer and an intake soon. I dont know what gears I have. Is their anything else I should know when doing all of this? I am not installing the lift myself. I am only going with 16" rims because tires are cheaper and one of my rims is bent so I already need to buy some.

if you slide under the truck and look at the rear diff there is a tag on the diff cover bolt it will tell you the gears inside 355, 373. I will tell ou this I have 315 on my truck now and they are killing my gas and power it is a slug. I just bought helo maxx 6 with 33x12.5 16 no more 17 for me to small of a selection in tires+there cheaper. If you do gears at least 4.10
