I have a 2005 Screw 4x4 steel wheels and will be installing FX4 18" factory aluminum wheels. Would anyone know if the Lug Nuts are the same? Past experience tells me Aluminum Wheels use different nuts but I had to ask

i doubt it... the steel wheels have the covers right? they put some acorn ones on there, the fx4 ones are polished cos they're showing... i could be wrong...

 

I was going to say the same thing. Both the 17 and 18 inch versions of the
fx4 wheel have the lugs exposed. The lugs from your steel wheels will probably not match up to the polished fx4 lugs.

That is not a lug nut cover on the FX-4 ??

I only have the pics on the ford web site to refer to, don't recall from seeing it in person, but I thought those were lug nut covers like the Lariat has.

BTW : Lariat with 18" AL wheels, steel lugs under that lug nut cover. Might even be the same ones from the XLT and XL.

 

The lug nuts on the FX4 wheel are not exposed. There are fake ones on the cover.

Yup, they are like a hub cap or center cap. I looked at ford parts online and found not much to confirm. I know some manufacturers use a different taper with aluminum wheels...
