Anybody see these ?

New Michelin Tires.....................Airless

No air! And much less petroleum in their manufacture. Check these out...

Pictures of the new Michelin! tires. They had a pair at the Philadelphia Car show. These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

Thats nuts! At first I thought the top pic was a cut away picture.

I like the idea of never having to fix a flat.

Wow - I see major accidents about to happen left and right with those babies.

Cool idea, but I think I'd rather have some rubber encasing those "spokes" for a lil more protection.

Cool idea though.

I would hope the retail tire has a covering over those sidewalls.

I like the idea, but I don't like the look.

mud?

If they make them for light trucks and you took them out in the mud I bet you could get them a little! out of balance. but they will make people look

The more I think about it they are kind of cool but bizzare, like Alfred Hitchc ock. They have air in them but you can see it. Its just not right

Looks pretty cool, how do you air down to go off road. (if they make it in a truck tire)

I would imagine that if they do make a truck tire, you wont be able to use the same tire/wheel for off-roading. You would have to put on a seperate set of tires that have softer spring rates.

I posted this just for the wow factor so to speak. Didn't really take much of an interest.

I searched around and it appears that they are called "Tweels" I did a search on the Michelin site.

From what I read both the wheel and tire are one unit. So everytime you have to replace them you get new wheels.
