Question 20's or 22's?????

My 2004 truck has a 6'' 8'' drop on it. I've seen new model trucks with 20's and they look soo small because the stock trucks sit soo high. Since mine is dropped do you think i could pull off 20's? And would 22's be too big because with stock wheels right now i don't have as much room between my wheel and wheel well. Anyone out there have a dropped truck with 20's or 22's have any suggestions?

although my truck isnt dropped, if it was me in your suituation id get 22s if they dont rub, im not sure if they will since ive never messed with a lowered f150. But id still go with 22s. thats just me though. i mean the fender well is still fairly big

The the Red one is mine..the guy that drives the yellow one did the drop on mine. His truck is bagged just to show you how low my truck is sitting. Its not a very good picture but as you can see the stock wheels look pretty big.

haha ive seen you around plenty of times, nice lookin truck, infact i've seen your truck in and around imperial oaks off of rayford rd all the time. its like the only new style reg cab flairside dropped that ive ever seen around.

id say get 20s.. 22's would probably look to big (unless your going to bag it then definitly go 22s)..

i have 20s on my 03 and its not nearly as dropped as yours but i think they look very nice.

I agree with tj03f150, get 20's, 22's would look more blinging but will most likely scrape or mess up your steering.

HAHAh yeahhh i see you and your truck all the time too. I live in Oak Ridge but my best friend lives in Imperial Oaks. I got tired of seeing trucks like mine everywhere soo i decided it was time for a change soo i dropped it. The only bad thing is it took soo much away from the ride. My truck used to be sooo smooth and now it bounces all over the place.

have you changed your shocks?

i have the svt lightning suspension in the rear with a 3" drop shackle and cut stock coils in front givin gme a 2 or 2.5 drop in front..... and well the only time i REALLY feel how rough it is, is when driving through that gdamn construction on rayford. but with a 6/8 like yours well.. heh ... maybe airride would fix that... i dont knwo..

glad my truck is a little different from stock that there is notice that its not totaly stock with wheels.. cuz it is dropped just not a whole lot... and i have a whole lot more to do to it so its a work in process and will probably go thorugh 1 more ugly stage...

if you see me on the road and i honk or flash lights or something im just saying hello

i dont think just cuz its dropped means it should have GIANT wheels... its another thing to be bagged with Giant wheels, to be tuckin 22's and bigger hell that looks nice.. but if its just dropped with giant wheels it might look ghetto and i dont think she wants to look anywhere near ghetto.. she likes the sleek stylish look and so do i...

Yeap the Sleek smooth look is what i'm going for Soon the black hook tie downs will be coming off and all a roll pan replacing the bulky rear bumper.

This would be Lil' Red's inspiration If i'm not mistaken those are 20 inch bonspeed wheels and that truck is sitting as low as mine. I like that look...if i were rich i would invest in those wheels...but i'm on a budget.

some friends of mine photoshopped the mb motoring gunner 6 on the 04+ reg cab flairside like yours and itlooked hella nice... i have gunner 5 because well i have 5 lug.. oh also, the wheels we photoshopped were polished aluminum... VERY clean look.. mine are also aluminum and not chrome..

The 22" rims should work fine -- you'll just have to be careful with your tire width. Most 22" tires I looked at had an overall diameter that was about the same as the factory set up. However, if you go significantly wider with your tires, then you may have troubles with your lowered truck.

For what it's worth, I have 305/40/22's on my truck and have no trouble with rubbing -- my truck has 2" shackles in the back and is at factory height in the front. But I suspect I would have rubbing issues up front if I lowered the truck as much as you are talking about.

Where did you get your drop done -- I am out in Tomball and have been toying with the idea of a drop beyond my 2" shackles???

Acutally my Dad's friend did it on for me. That yellow truck next to mine in the picture above..that is his truck he did all the work. Actually his truck is bagged. He has a shop if you would like i can give you his #. I'm not too sure of exactly how much my drop was becaues it was a birthday present but i know his prices are fairly decent plus he is a cool guy. He is over by 1960 E area soo not too far from you. Just email me Chevellechick04@yahoo.com if you want any more information

Hot looking rims boys, good job and taste in choice. To answer buddies question, go with 22's. That is my suggestion, anything bigger is too big. But it's hard to say cuz 20's look good too. I saw a 98 4x4 scab today with Dodge 20's on and it looked decent, probably cuz they are bulky rims.
