This has been discussed several times. Just do a search on the subject and you will get lots of opinions as to the best way to go. Lots to read.

I might add I went with Porterfield pads and although I will honestly say they DEFINITELY improved braking...they didn't have "barely any dust at all" like everyone on these boards likes to claim.

I'll be honest and say they definitely still do dust, although maybe 1/3rd of what my OEM pads were, they still aren't that great for dust as far as I am concerned.

Maybe try the NAPA pads...

Brake Dust

Hey Drew I got this info from Chucks BP a while back when I was having the same problem. He recommended that I get reybestos quietstops break pads. So i did and no more break dust. Go with them and you will be happy.

Did you keep the OEM rotors or go aftermarket?

I have found if you buy from Carquest and get the Raybestos made Carquest branded pads that are blue, do not go gold, you will be completely satisfied. The blue pads aren't the cheapest, second highest behind gold but are warrantied against anything bad, noise/ wear / excessive dust etc. Rotor selection doesn't usually matter, but get the better ones offered.

I agree. I also went with Porterfields and although the brake dust was not as bad as the oem's, they still produced quite a bit (fronts). I replaced the front pads with Hawk ceramics about 1,000 miles ago and there is now virtually no dusting.

HI Blue - How many miles are you getting from the Carquest blue pads? I had put those on when I replaced the original OEM pads the first time & when I inspected the the other day while doing a tire rotation I noticed they were in need of replacement after approx. 23K miles. Does Carquest give a free replacement on those I wonder or a pro-rated situation. I have the receipt but not the box Im afraid. Anyway appreciate your input on this:-)

Exclamation

Ive got 35k miles on my Therma Quiet pads and they're only half worn,if that. And,they leave virtually no brake dust on the rims!
