Nitto AT vs. BFG AT

what should I get Nitto or BFG At's. I have heard great about both. The Nitto is a little cheaper. What is the tread life for both and how have they handled in mud and rock. Please give some advice on what tire comes to your likeing. Thanks

I vote NITTOs

I love mine. I have had them in sand, mud and some very steep moutain (gravel/rock)roads in Virginia and no complaints at all. The best AT tire I have ever had. I have a friend with the BFG AT's and they slick up a lot more in the mud than the Nittos do.
Good Luck

Bfg

I have the BFG AT on my truck and they did pretty good. I had that on my nissan back in arizona, and now on my ford in Indiana. They are quiet on the road, good grip, reliable when it is raining. No complain but I won't say anything about the nitto since I never tried them.

I've got Nitto street tires and I think they look sweet, but they are wearing fairly quickly, and a little unevenly.

I had BFg ATs on my Ranger and LOVED them. Never had issues.

I know several people that have gotten over 80k miles on BFg AT TA KOs.

For All-Terrains there is NO better than BFG IMO

I just bought a new set of tires and went with the BFG All-Terrains. I was looking at the Nittos as well, but my buddy at Discount Tire strongly, strongly recommended not getting them. He claims they wear much quicker than the BFGs. They do look nice, though not as agressive. I'm loving the BFGs so far, and everyone says they wear like iron. We'll see!

Both are excellent tires. I have over 45,000 miles on my BFG AT KO's and expect them to make it to 60,000.

I have the Nittos on my 4x2 Screw and like them alot. They are wearing VERY well.

I have heard some of the earlier Nittos wore very quickly, especially on F250's but they resolved that problem.

My buddy had the earlier Nitto's on his Crew Cab F250 4x4 PSD, and his wore pretty quick, but thats a lot of truck. He says he will go back to the BFG's.

I have a set of BFG AT KO's on my F150 (285/75 16's) and I really like them. They are only a few weeks old, but they are the second set I have had. I have found that they like lots of air though. 45 psi or so in the front and 48 or so in the back. When I got the truck the original set had some miles, not sure how many as it was 3 years old when I bought it. At the time they had about 40 psi in each. They wore just fine, but the truck wandered like crazy. More air certainly helped, and the manager of my local Discount Tire agreed with my pressure choices.
