16" wheels on a 2002 F-150 2WD XLT?

Someone told me you can't run 16's because of the calipers. True?
I just want to level the front end and run some 16's with a wide tire.
I like the look of the tire peaking out of the wheel well. Pics or suggestions would be appreicated.

16's will work just fine on an '02. '04, when they changed the body style is when they changed the calipers.....requiring a 17 or bigger....

dont know much about tire size on a 2wd....i think 265 is your best bet for a bigger tire.....

I found some wheels I'd like to run. 16 x 8, 5" backspace, 12.00mm offset.
I assume these are fine? Would a ProComp A/T 285/75/16 be too big. I want a wide black sidewall and a wide tire. Just not sure about sizing. My truck has Longtrail 275/60/17's on right now. I want something wider. Keep in mind, I was planning on just adding 2" front leveling springs, but may do a 2" body lift.

this may be dumb question, but could you put smaller rotors and calipers on the new body style f150? i know it would be expensive.

Anything is possible, but some things are not worth doing. I've always been told you can put windshield wipers on a goat's but with the right wiring harness, but why would you?
