Opinions Wanted on Black Wheels on Red/Tan F150

I posted this in the 2004-2006 F150 forum but didn't get much interest... thought people over here might have some input:

What do you think?

(This is my crude photoshop)
I took the tirerack.com pic and changed the window tint and two-tone color to match mine.

I do have Chrome nerf bars which this pic doesn't show.

Here's a closeup of the wheel:

Terrible. No offense, but I think would be the worst possible wheel color on a two-tone with red and tan. I say stick to allor oy chrome. Also, go for a simple wheel as your truck is busy already, so you don't want to make it overly busy with a busy set of wheels.

I'm with the common consensus here and I vote no. Personal thing that I can't stand two tone to start with then adding another color just doesn't work at all.

Forgot to mention that the reason I'm considering it is that I can get a really good deal on them... probably $500 for the set with tires with under 5k miles on them.

Here's my other idea:

Have the tan painted over with black and get black fender-flares from a lariat or FX4. That would leave me with black, red, and chrome as the only visible colors on the truck...

Im not sure about these rims but just a recommendation, I really like my rims and I believe they would look great on your truck

O and what are the size of the rims that you are looking at???

20" Wheels With 275/55/20 General tires.

I'm also looking at drop-shackles for the rear to balance things out.

After seeing the previous replies, I'm almost afraid to do this but I will anyway. Now I don't have the tan, maybe that makes a difference, but here is what I have done. I love it!!

2003 F-150 XLT
Westin Nerf Bars
LiteRider Tonneau Cover - Line X
16 X 8 American Racing Crush wheels

if you are saving the money on the rims and that is what is enticing you to buy them then why spend all that money to change the look of your truck? I personally think that still wouldnt look too great, but I guess if thats what you like and what you want go for it. Everyone has different tastes.

Here's the whole deal...

I was looking at getting new tires for my truck... to get up-sized tires on my stock 17's, it was going to cost about $800 installed.

Why would I spend that when I can upgrade the wheels and get basically new tires for just over half of that??

I think I'll try and get them... if I don't like the look, I'll sell them to someone else and not take a big hit like buying new.

Well, I let them go to hold out for the ones I really want...

The "Chrome Edition" factory 18's ... or AR "Orleans" 20's...
