Pics of 285 and/or 305/70/17's please!!!

Hey guys,

As mentioned in a thread I started a while ago, I'm looking for either a 285 or 305 mud tire for my 00 flareside 4x4. Do you have any pics and also advice on what you did to accomodate these tires? As I said, I got the size max for my stock rim, but now want to see what they would look like. I don't want any lift, but t-bar cranking may be an option, or mandatory. Show me what you got!!!!!! Have a swell afternoon

Ya hawgman, actually I have seen them, many many times. Every time I say I want 305's, I look back at yours and change my mind again. Remember, I'm totally stupid when choosing, and for good reason in that wheels/tires make a huge diff. I got a curveball today when the guy painting my car said my front coils aren't even the right ones, that's why the front won't settle. Now, I'm back to wanting 17's instead of wanting/needing 15's. The front end is stiff, like solid and at it's limits for height. Actually, it looks weird.

Back to the truck. I have seen a truck similar to APT's at work, but for some reason his tires look bigger. They aren't, I've checked. I probably am going 285's like I've said, but haven't seen alot of 305's to convince me of the change. Thanks guys, keep em comin'.

Take a look at my gallery if you want to see the 285/70/17's on a stock height truck. Mine is an '03 and I have not touched the suspension at all. The wheels are 17 x 8.5.

Looks sweet IL6fan, I'm pretty much sold on the 285's and sounds like trimming and cranking are needed for 305's, so I'm leaning toward 285's. More please!!!

I'm running 285's on 17's but they're A/T's not mud tires. Check out my gallery for pics.

They look good, I was going to go with the same, but thaught ah hell, try mud's out. My buddy has the A/T's you have on his 02 screw and loves them, everyone seems to. Again, I'm pretty sure on the 285's.

Sorry no pics yet, but I just got 305/70/16 mickey thompson baja mtz on 16x10 **** cepek dc-1's. Everyone keeps telling me it looks great. Mine is a 98 4x4. All i had to do was trim a very little off the lower valiance, which took about 5 minutes. Cant even tell it was trimmed at all. Good luck.

Here is mine.
I did tweak the t-bars a little to level it out because I like the look but these 285s on my 16s will just clear without any adjustments!

285/75-16 = 32.9" standard

a 305/70 is a 34x12.00......

Torturekilla.....it really just depends on what aspect ratio the tire is...e.g. 285 or 305 is the width of the tire in mm and the second number is the aspect ratio (percentage of the width of the tire) and it determines the sidewall height of the tire. So a 305/70 would be 305 mm wide with a sidewall height of 305x.70.

Sharp Truck IL6Fan.
I've got a 2003 FX4. Looking for tires and wheels. What brand are the wheels on yours. They look similar to some I have looked at.
