Wheels for 05 FX4??????

I've got an 05 FX4 and want to downsize my wheels and upsize the hell out of the tires. I want to put 35x12.50's on 16x10's, but can't find any wheels with that crazy 6x135mm bolt pattern.
What do I do? Or does anybody know of any companies making the smaller wheels with my bolt pattern?
Thanks..._motes

you probably cant find any smaller wheels in that size because you cant fit a
'16 on your truck. The smallest wheel that you can fit on a 04+ truck is a '17 and on some of the later 05+ trucks have problems fitting some aftermarket wheels. Your probably going to have to go with an '18 or find a '17 that will fit. And your not going to be able to fit a 35 on an aftermarket rim unless you lift or your going to have MAJOR rubbing. you can fit 35's on stock wheels with little rubbing and you could maye get away with an 8 inch wide wheel but it's still going to rub a lot

I agree. You didn't mention lifting you truck either. If you install a 2.5 inch leveling kit, you can fit 35x12.50's using your OEM wheels. I think a better looking option is a 325/60-18 tire (33x13.00) on an 18x9 inch wheel (with 5 or 5.5 inches of backspacing.

Ditto on what the Proffesor said. I shopped around for 16" wheels when I had my '04 FX4 and quickly found out that 17" was as small of a wheel as I could get due to brake clearance issues.

For 17's, a good tire is the Goodyear Wrangler MT in 305/70/R17, which is a 34" tire and has all the tread anyone could want in an off-road tire. They're not too bad on the highway, either. There are lots of relatively inexpensive options for 17" tires/wheels.

As wandell asked, what kind of lift do you have? I assume you're not at stock specs if you're looking at 35's.

I am sitting stock, but have been told that all I need is the 2.5" leveling kit to fit the 35's. I'm guessing that is only on stock wheels?...my wheels are the 18's and since the 16's won't work, I'd like to keep the original 18's. Is this possible?

Right. Most people running 35x12.50's on stock 4x4's are using the OEM wheels and a 2.5 inch leveling kit. Your stock wheels are 18x7.5 inches with 5.5 inches of backspacing. You can use a 35x12.50-18 tire but your rims are 1/2 inch narrower than recommended by most tire manufacturers. Usually, running a tire on too narrow a wheel will cause the center portion of the tires tread to wear slightly faster than normal. However, many members here and at FTW have run 35x12.50's on their OEM 7.5 inch wheels for tens of thousands of miles without any problems. If you choose to go to an aftermarket wheel, you will have to find one close to your OEM wheel's demensions, like an 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of backspacing.

thanks guys...I appreciate the advice. One more thing, how much longer until, do you think, that BFG will make their All Terrain in the 18" sizes...my dad used to work for Michelin and he says just wait a couple of months, but what do you think?...Thanks again..._motes

They already have several offerings for their AT's in 18" but just not as many as most of us would like.

The ones we mentioned should be out this fall. I'd go ahead with the suspension mods and then wait patiently for the new tire sizes to come out. The OE shoes don't look too bad with spacers and add-a-leafs (if you get them).
