I just bought an '04 FX4 super crew. I want to get some new wheels and tires and probably need a level kit. I really like the look of this FX4 and the set up.

I noticed this truck has 305/55/20 tires with a Skyjacker level kit. My question is will this set up common or I will be worrying about rubbing? Also is the skyjacker level kit a good choice to use? Sorry so many questions, I'm newbie. Any advice will help.

 

All of the leveling kits are about the same. Skyjacker recently redesigned their kit to resemble the Autospring kit. THese are just a lot easier to install than the two piece kits like the Daystar. Also, if you use a leveling kit, you can fit a 35x12.50 tire by using the OEM wheels. Personally, I think a 33 inch tire (like you listed) on a wider aftermarket wheel looks better.

 

Is 305 tire equivalent to a 33 inch tire?

 

yeah pretty much, a 305/55 is a 33.2x12.0......

 

Right, in that example. 305 is the width of the tread in millimeters.
