Tires for 04 Lariat

I have an 04 Lariat supercrew 4x4 and I'm having the toughest time finding tires. There seems to not be much of a choice at all for 18's. The cheapest are some continental tires but they dont look worth a crap. I wanted some A/T tires but all that I find are out rageous. What sizes should I be looking for?

275/65/18?
285/65/18?
285/60/18?

Will the 285/60/18 rub or look too skinny? The only ones I found in 285/65/18 are the BFG A/T's and they are pretty expensive. I mainly drive on roads and occasionally pull a boat. Please help me find a tire!

yeah the bfg at's are pretty expensive but from all accounts they are worth it, the 285's will not look to skinny, they are actually about the widest you wanna go on a stock rim. Those tires would look great and would be a MUCH better tire than the continentals.

Go to google and search Dicount Tire and Tire Rack for tires in that size and then go from there.

I thought the 65 and 60 would be the width. What does the middle number mean? LIke what would be the difference in a 285/60 and a 285/65?

the first number is the width in mm, so a 285 is an 11.50.. and the second number is the aspect ratio, figures to determine the sidewall height of the tire from where the tire mounts to the rim to the top of the tread. It is figured as a % of the width of the tire.....for example.

285/60 = 171mm - 31.46 x 11.22 or 32 x 11.50
285/65 = 185.25mm - 32.58 x 11.22 or 33 x 11.50

does that help?

60 vs. 65 is the percent of tire section width (the first number i.e. 285) to the height. It is a differnt size. They both will fit on the OEM rims. They will affect speedo and possibly performance, but does it matter? Only you can decide.

Revos are now availible in 285/65R18.

Right, a 285/60-18 and a 285/65-18 are both 285 millimeters wide.
