Brake Pads

What kind of brake pads are you using to replace the cheap factory ones? (I can not stand black wheels on the front and chrome on the back... ) Where are you getting them from?

Do you know what they cost? Did you just replace the front or all?

Thanks,

I replaced my fronts with Wagner Thermo Quiet which is a semi-metallic like the factory ones, just better quality. I get a small amount of dust in a week to 10 days, and since I usually wash weekly, it is not a problem. With the original pads, I was having to wipe them off every 2 days. I drive 500 to 700 miles a week. The Wagners were $48 and they make no noise and stop very well.

I bought my Wagner's at a local auto parts store. If you are interested in them, just call around to some parts houses and find out who handles Wagner and will get them for you. The parts store got them over night for me.

I replaced the horrible Ford brake pads with EBC Green Stuff pads and I have no brake dust even after 10 days between washes. They are a little spendy at $85.00 but well worth no brake dust...

I has SBS pads that only lasted about 30,000 miles. The dust destroyed my ARE Mohave wheels and wore out what was new Power Slot rotors when I installed the pads.

My truck is on jack stands right now. I have new Power Slot Cyros and EBC SUV Green Stuff pads waiting to put on. I'm debating on whether to buy new calipers since they have 160,000 miles on them. I'm in no rush on the brakes at the moment because I ordered 4 new Edeelbrock IAS shocks that haven't arrived yet. I also received my Energy sway bar end links because I noticed my old ones were broke while removing my old brakes. So I have a little time to decide on the calipers.

I'm hoping these EBC green pads last longer and have less dust because I bought a new used set of Ford polished wheels on Ebay.

I put the ceramix pads from napa on my truck about 2 months ago, no dust and no noise at all and they stop great, really noticed a difference when towing my travel trailer.

By the way nice color truck and good choice in tires ;-)

Wow, Napa pads are expensive, I have a friend who sent me to a custom shop that did his ****** brakes and they suggested HB455F.785: Hawk HPS Brake Pads, around 77 bucks. I had ordered EBC pads until I got an email this morning that they are discontinued. I may try the Napa, you guys sound happy with them.
