More off road

I just recently got a 06 STX reg cab and I dont go off roading alot but theres times where i need to go off road and I think im going to get some better mud tires. I had to park in a patch of mud at a party once cause everyone thought I had 4wd but I dont and I almost got stuck. I dont want something that kills my mileage or something too expensive, also i do have 2wd so maybe i can just get 2 rear wheels. Is that even a possibilty?

yeah you can do whatever you want, people run muds or winter type tires on the rears on 2wd all the time for that purpose, it looks a little strange but you can do it. With a 2wd the biggest you wanna go is a 265, what size rims do you have?

well it depends on exactly what you are looking for, go with the 265/70/17, and look around at prices. If you want an all-terrain tire, look at the Nitto Terra Grappler they are very reasonably priced, look sweet and are a great tire. I think you can get a 265 for around 100-125/tire. Take a look at them. If you want a mud tire Buckshot mudders are cheap. And there are others out there. Just start looking around at the 265/70/17 and find what you like.

I'd suggest a quality all terrian 265/70-17 tire like the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler or Toyo Open Country AT.

OK. Ive been looking around and I really like the agressive look of the Buckshots. Is there anything to be worried about with these tires as far as traction on the street? wet traction? Not really concerned about off the line traction more safety wise. I guess they will be more stable because of the width but I really dont know much about tires. Also would there be any problems with rubbing if I bought either of these witout a levelling kit?...What about the rain/safety properties of the nitto muds?

A lot of questions here, any help is very much appreciated.

I've driven my friends truck with Buckshots on it and I was suprised with the wet traction these tires have. These tires last a long time for mud tires. As soon as I can scrape up the money I will be putting Buckshots on my truck.

With a leveling kit you can fit 33" LT tires. Or a 285 p-metric tire.

stock i'm go with all terrains, I have Goodyear Wranglers and they never let me down, 33s will fit without rubbing, but you might be able to get 35s in with the 2" level kit
