Tire pressure for new tires

Just curious-I know it has been discussed before, but I just put a set of 285/70/17 BFG AT's on my truck (thanks for the help Wandell) and Bell Tire put 34 lbs in them. What should they be set at? Thanks much

BFG only lists a load range D tire in that size. 34 is too low. I would run them in the 44-46 range.

I don't think you will have a problem running 34 psi, but you may get better gas milage with a higher pressure. I'd bump it up and see if the quality of ride suffers. I'd shoot for something in the 40 to 45 psi range.

I'm running the 265 /70 /17 - BFG AT KO's at 40 PSI.....better mpg, less noise. Started at 35PSI, too much "grab/bite".

Thanks guys. I put 42 in them and the ride is pretty good. Although I have a shimmy at 65........don't know if I should take them back and have them check the balance.
