Dueler Revos vs Wrangler SilentArmor?

im the service manager at a repair facility that specializes in bridgestone/firestone tires (hint, lol) revos are great...i've had them on my g/f's explorer, my chevy, and my dodge. i just ordered a set of 285/70/17's for my scab. one of my lead techs has them on his chevy. most of the other service managers have them along with store managers (those that have trucks). if your buying from a bridgestone/firestone retail store, they offer a 30 day test drive for the revo's. but everyone that we have sold has never had a complaint.

Here is what owners think of the Revos after 31 MILLION miles. A new tire always seem to score pretty well but this is years of Revo mileage.

my final decision will be for Revos. They are 5 pounds lighter and I find that if I buy them in western KY I can save over $100 total compared to chicago area, go figure. The SA's in Ky would be more than the Revos in KY. If I figure in a 3-5% mpg loss with the SA's, that puts the Revos about half the price of the SA's at 50k miles.

I bought a set of tires for my wifes mini van about 12 years ago based on Tire Racks rating system. Not many miles were reported and the ratings were tops. By the time I got rid of those tires they were near the bottom and I concured.

When choosing between tires, an aggressive pattern can be good. But make sure the tire you buy has as much siping as possible. (The little cuts in the tread blocks). This makes a huge different in traction on rain and ice. Take a look at Nokian tires. Just put a set on our Audi A4 and they are awesome. They make truck tires too. That being said, I've had a set of Dueler ATs and I really liked them.
