factory wheel question
Hello i did a little researching and found a little bit of the info but not all.
I currently have an 2001 5.4 v8 lariat 4x4 and my question was about the factory wheels i really like them because i have kept them up really nice and the chrome finish is great but i measured them the other day and form the outside of the rim from the little lip to lip i got like 18-1/4" inches and when i went from the outside to in it looked like 9" but is there something printed on the wheel so I know the size for sure. B/C i wanted to put some 35" BFG's would that even be possible, i am putting a 6" fabtech lift on. but i wanted to put some 35" BFG MT on my factory wheels

Hello chug4real,
Your 2001 Lariat 4x4 would have come with 17x7.5" wheels. The 35/12.5-17 BFG MT tires call for 17x8.5-11.0" wheels so your stock wheel is an 1" to narrow. But I am sure there are people who have the 35/12.5-17 on stock wheels with no problems, you are just running a higher risk of blowing the bead especially if you use a lower PSI in your tires when you go off-roading.

just an FYI, if you're serious about getting the 6" Fabtech lift I would check the specs on what wheel backspacing the kit calls for. I got a 6" lift on my 02 and wanted to keep my factory OEM rims but the backspacing (4.5") would not work with the Fabtech lift. So before you spend all that $$$$ on tires for your OEM's I would check that out.
