chrome in winter

If you have chrome rims is it Ok to leave them on in the winter? I live in MA and we have some nasty winters. Should I switch back to stock rims in the winter?(really dont want to) Any opinions appreciated

I'd just keep them clean, when possible, and wax them every few weeks.

Change them out. I have a lot of friends with chrome rims and have seen nice chrome rims pit and flake with in 6 months on NY winters. The snow isnt the problem its the salt and sand. One of my friends cleaned his rims every other day and they started pitting after a year and a half.

I have the factory chrome wheels on my truck and I have left them on for the two winters that I have had the truck. I don't know what the previous owner did, but I assume that he left them on also. I have had no problems with them pitting or flaking.

factory crome will not be a problem, aftermarket crome wheels will be pitted and flaking. i know a guy that did not even use his in the winter and they still are flaking and pitting.

I used to have aftermarket chrome rims. I had trouble with them after 1 winter. I sold the replacement rims, now I have FX4 stock wheels.
