Weird question???

Not sure were to post it so ill post it here. I just installed a aftermarket intake kit on my truck(see gallery). Before I installed it I could do burnouts forever and it was wicked easy. Now that I have intake installed I cant even get the tires to spin. Thats all Ive put on since this problem. Anyone now what the problem is?????????

Sounds as if you restricted air intake some where. My son installed a "Universal aftermarket intake" system and encountered a similar problem... it turned out to be he had slid the intake filter to far up on the aluminum pipe. The filter was actually pushed against the intake plumbing causing a major air flow restriction. We adjusted filter(pulled filter out so only approx. 1.5" of tubing sticks inside the filter) and retightened clamp... he is ready to order another set of tires(again). in other words that fixed his problem... I viewed your gallery photo... the connection looks good and the zip-tie to the jack handle adds a personal touch just joking I hope this helps... BoB

Wow, there you are again! I just posted on one of your other threads. Is it possible that anything else has changed like the temperature or the fact that the pavement is cooler (or dryer)? Also, are you trying to do your burnout onb the same type of surface? Concrete that has a rougher finish can be pretty tough to burn out on, compared to asphalt.

I still agree though that more than likely there is something else that is contributing to your problem. Airflow restriction is one possibility. The other thing I can think of right off the top of my head is that you should have reset your computer when you addaed this intake kit (ie. unhook the battery when you installed it). If this was not done the computer will have a harder time adjusting to the increased airflow that the intake kit produces. Hope this helps.--DIY.

Resetting the computer

I agree with what was said about resetting the computer... It is never too late to reset it. All it takes is for you to completely unhook the battery from the wiring harness, wait about 10-20 minutes, then hook everything back up. Also, you might take a look at your O2 sensor. Sometimes when you install a CAI the O2 sensor gets corroded and doesn't work properly. Also, where you have placed the O2 sensor could affect performance. Is your filter one that needs oiling? If so, did you oil it?

Just a couple other things to look into.

Hope this helps!
