Anyone have these fitted to a standard 2004/5 F-150
ordered a set of American racing wheels (608's) just need to choose a tyre
Was going with 305 40 22 but now wonder if 45's will fit ok biggar side wall slightly better for off road and avoiding kerbs

Those tires come up to be about 34.5 inches tall...you might be okay with the right offset and a leveling kit, but without the leveling kit, it'll never happen...if wandell shows up to this post he'll sure let you know what to do, but with the leveling kit, I think you'll be fine if you get like a 5.5" backspacing...

Good luck..._motes

305 40 22's it is then
Leveling kit? does this lift the front? I intend to drop the back 2"s so lifting the front would not be right
Never heard of a levelling kit though?????

Yes, it lifts the front 2-2.5" depending on what kit you get.

If you are going with 22's and street styles you don't want to level your truck by lifting the front. You are right to level it by lowering the rear. I have Falken 305/45-22's on my Expy. My Eagle wheels are 9.5 inches wide and have 6.7 inches of backspacing. THe 305/45-22's work out to be approximately a 33x12.50 tire vs. the 305/40-22 which are approximatley a 32x12.50 tire. I know a lot of members are running 305/40-22's and I've even seen them on lowered trucks so I would think a 305/45-22 would fit fine.

Excuse my ignorance but does the 'Expy' have the same underpinnings as the F-150 or is it a completely different beast?

The front biggest difference is the rear suspension. The 03-07 Expy's have IRS with coilover shocks. Both the 03-07 Expy's and 04-07 F-150's have the same IFS with coilover shocks.

I have 305/45/22 on my 05 F150 4X4, but balancing has been a pain. They still are not balanced right and give me a wobble down the highway.

F150DUKE Is your truck stock? what wheels are you running? what offset do you have? Do they rub at all? Have you changed you final drive? Basically I need ALL info and pics if you have em
Excited for a reply
I've only ever seen one other 'new shape' F-150 on the road over here so gleening info is not easy
Give me the info please and you can have a choice of my wife or my house

Ignorance again
Can the Explorers IRS be retro fitted to the F-150 or is the chassis a different beast?
Would be amazing to have a fully independant F-150
Do they have the same engines as the F-150 too?

Not the Explorer's, but the Expedition's IRS can be fitted on an F-150. There was a truck featured in one of the 4x4 magazines a year or so ago with this mod. An Expy's IRS was modified (lifted) and installed on the rear of an 04 F-150 4x4. There was a great deal of fabrication involved, but it was awesome!

My truck is stock height and there is about a 1.5 inch difference in the ride height from the back to the front. My truck was oddly level looking from the factory. I haven't had any rubbing or needed to make any changes. I'm running the same rims and size of tires as Wandell's Expy.

Here is a link to my galleries, you'll find pictures in there of the rims and tires.

Not knowing what your wife or house looks like at the moment, I think I'll pass. Hopefully they're both not very big.

So I have a 2005 f150 2wd supercab....I want 305 45 22 tires, are these going to fit with no trimming/lifting/etc? Does anyone else have problems with shaking on the freeway?
