Questions abouts wheels and lift on 06 FX-4

Whats up all, my first post here.

Let me start by saying that I am new to the world of trucks. I bought my first F-150 back in December with the 2006 FX-4 package, it has been a great truck for the 16,000 miles I have on it already. I have the 20" FX-4 wheels on it and they look good. I would like to go with a larger, taller tire, I'm going for the off-road look not the street look. I have to be carefull because I do put alot of miles on this truck and I do not want to get to crazy with it. I also would like to get the truck up about 2".

Questions:
What is is a leveling kit and would that get me up 2" without sacraficing the factory suspension.

Is a leveling kit and a body lift the same thing?

What size tire looks great on the FX-4 wheel and also looks/performs like an offroad tire? I think I have 275/55/20 on the truck now, I what something more of an offroad look.....

I want to keep it simple but am willing to spend some cash on good parts. I need some help, anyone please.........

A leveling kit and body lift are not the same thing. A leveling kit lifts the front end to level the truck out front to back (i believe they have 2 and 2.5'' kits). A body lift raises the body of the truck up by adding some spacers between the frame and the body, so it lifts the entire body/bed just like the name suggests. You should be able to fit up to a 35'' tire with a leveling kit. I think the Nitto Terra Grappler would be the best tire choice.

I agree. The Toyo Open Country AT and BFG AT KO would also be great tire choices.

Thanks

Anyone run this tire size on a 150 with a leveling kit and 20" wheels?

Good or bad idea?
