Anyone running 285/75/16 's on the stock 16x7" wide wheels? I want to go to 285's from my stock 245/75/16. Alot of people tell me it is ok but the approved rim width for 285/75/16 is 7.5" - 9". one shop told me it would be ok to put them on 7" wide rims one shop said they would not last long and wouldn't want to put them on the 7" rim. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has done it and what their experience was. Did the tires wear evenly and balance properly?

They will be fit fine. I ran that combo shortly and had no balancing problems. I know several guys that have run 285's on their 6.5 inch wide Chevy wheels with on problems.
