DC-1 on an 04

Hello, New forum, great info.

I was wondering how **** Cepeks DC-1 17X9 Wheel with 4.53 BS, will fit on a 04 FX4. Stock now with factory 18's, I really like the look of the DC-1, but with that little backspacing was wondering how far they would stick out.
Any sugestions, on the BS I should be looking for , Stock suspension

Thanks for any info,

Nick

Your OEM wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing. So the 17x9's will stick out about 2.5 inches farther than your factory wheels.

Thanks fopr the reply, If I went with an 18 X 9, with 5" BS, would that stick out to far? Really like the rims, but Won't get them If they stick out too far and look funny.

A 9 inch wheel with 5 inches of backspacing will stick out 2 inches farther than you OEM wheels. In my opinion, this is the maximum specs I would use, in terms of "sticking out". I've seen several trucks with these specs and I think they look fine.

Thanks Wandell, Ok now onto the next question,
I want to keep my 04 stock for now, no leveling kit yet, What is the biggest tires I can put on this truck 04 FX4, 18 X 9 Moto Metal 951's, and what offset should I look for a little better stance, but not stick out too far.

Also, I just bought my wife an expy like yours and I might talk her into some new wheels, Like your style Bro.
Thanks again,

Nick

I know you can fit a 325/60-18 (33x13.00) on an 18x9 (with 5 or 5.5 inches of backspacing with a leveling kit. I'm not sure if they will fit without a leveling kit.

Wandell,
Thanks again for all your replys, You've been a big help, but I can't search no more I'm wore out, Last question. I'm thinking I want 17 X 9, moto Metal 951, now. Will 285 70 17's fit without leveling kit? Once again 2004 FX4.
Also I've been reading alot and Haven't seem to figure this one out, Mine has Stock 18's Some have 17's stock, (FX4 trucks, not sure if it makes a difference) I've seen Some put 17 X 9 Moto's on theirs, but I'm not sure if the calipers are different on 18" stock wheel trucks, and 17's. Do you know if there are any differences.
Thanks again.

The brake calipers are not different. Sometime during the 2005 model year Ford went to a different brake caliper and this is causing fitment problems with some aftermarket 17 inch wheels on the 2006, 2007 and some 2005 model year trucks. Since you have an 04 your will be fine with 17's. As, for the Moto Metal's, they should work fine with 285's unless they have a really shallow backspacing.
