brake dust

does anyone have trouble with front wheel brake dust? This seems to keep my clean wheels looking dirty. I have a 05-F150 Lariat. Does anyone sell front brake pads that don't make such a mess? Or is there something I can do to solve this problem.
Thanks for any help!!!!!!!
Denny

Do a search on the subject. You should find a lot to read on the subject. Many of us have changed our pads. At 11,000 miles, I could not take it anymore and put on some Wagner Thermo Quiet pads. They have worked great for me.

Local auto parts store should be able to get them. Costis about $48 for the fronts. You may want to read the threads as others have used different types and brands. I chose the Wagner as they were a semi-metallic like the factory ones, just a very high quality. i felt that I would have less chance of noise and vibes. Have had them on for over 21,000 now and no problems. Seems as if I remember some having good luck with NAPA pads as well.

I've got an '06 and I've never experienced a brake dust problem like I have on this truck. I swear that just cranking it turns the rims black. I've only got about 8,000 miles right now and I'll be sure to use a different brand when it's time to change the pads...

I have an '04 SCrew Lariat and I have the same problem with the brake dust. The stock wheels that I took off recently were terrible! They had soooooo much dust on them...and I cleaned my truck once a week!! With the new wheels it hasn't been to bad yet (probably 'cuz I am washing it almost twice a week now) but I don't want to have the wheels acting as a brake dust magnet. I will definitely look into the Wagner's and read the other posts!
