Muds or All terrains

Ive got a 1999 f150 2wd lariat. I want to put bfgoodrich all terrains for my next set of tires. I dont know if you guys think that muds would be better or not? Also, what do you think between a 275/70/16 and a 265/75/16? Thanks.

well the muds will definately look alot better. but they wont last near as long on concrete. the a/t ko's are much better choice for everyday driving. and i would go with the 265's, you might have some rubbing problems with the 275's

Get the 265/75R16 BFGs, they are about as big as you want to go on a 2WD, Ive seen a few with that setup and it looks nice.

Why would you get a locker? (that means I would not get one...especially on a street truck).

if you already have a limited slip there is no need for a locker unless you get into alot of situations where one rear tire loses all traction (one tire being in the air and spinning)

Thanks for the help guys. I think ill go with the 265s and do without the locker. Can you lock up the front end of a truck if its only 2wd? I thought somebody told me once that you cant. If it is possible, is it worth it?

No, you cant. The front wheels on your truck are not connected to the driveline, thats what makes the difference between a 4x4 and 4x2; therefore no ability to lock them (no necessity, because no power goes to the front wheels).

I have 265's on my truck and wish I went bigger. I am planning on upping to 285's next time. 275 is not a significant jump from the 265
