Brake dust is starting to get to me

I have a 2004 STX and the brake dust on the front disc brakes is absolutly horrid! The back discs are fine...but I need to know what pads I can get to stop this problem. I can clean my wheels and 2 days later dust is back on them making my wheels look black. I especially want to change them before I put aftermarket rims on my truck.....any suggestions?

I used a top quality semi metallic, Wagner Thermo Quiet, can be had from most parts stores. No problems and still look like new after 20,000 miles. If you do a search on "brake dust", you should find a lot of discussion.

Carquest (Raybestos) pads, blue which is fully warrantied and half as much as gold ones. I don't get any dust even after weeks of city driving. I absolutely love them.

Ok guys a while back I asked about the PorterField R4S brakes---I am REALLY tired of the brake dust---the Porterfield brake pads are about99$ for the front----Heck I don't mind spending that but are there any other brake pads that will cut down that dust---I live in texas and would have to order the Porterfields---I've heard about some Kevlar ceramic pads but nothing else---HELP

I posted above, Wagner Thermo Quiet from most parts stores, about $48 for the fronts.

I have the Porterfields and although they greatly reduce the amount of dust, it's still there and still annoying. On the plus side, they do stop much better than the stock pads. I ran ceramic pads on my 2002 and they were virtually dust free.

brake dust is terrible on mine, b.c after i lowered the vents on the back of the rotors dont get all the air they need to to properly disperse the dust into the air, and not onto the rim. I put on some cheapy AuotZone pads were like 30 buck for both.. Stop well but dust is horrible, just an average semi metallic i think.

Thumbs up

in my brief research before buying - I figured the EBC Green pad is a good one. fronts were $70 - autopartswarehouse.com - just make sure they are in stock before you place the order call it in - and have the dude verify he can ship them out. I had to wait a few weeks which was a pain.

I wound up getting a set of their rotors too.
