Thumbs up First post..........new F-150 owner

Hey guys, I just found this place and was excited to see what info I can pick up in here. I just traded in my 1995 Ranger for a sweet F150 Supercrew and I'm looking for lots of info so I can upgrade my trrrrrrrrrruck!

For starters I have a Gibson dual sport exhaust and a K&N 63 intake on the way to me now. I have been having a heck of a time finding wheels that I want, they all seem to be "sold out" of the ones I want. I am most likely going to be putting on 20" wheels with 285/50/20 tires. Right now I am leaning towards Goodyear GTII's but I want as much comments and info as you can throw at me before I blow my load on the wrong stuff.

Thanks guys, I hope this will be a fun place to chill.

Brian

Nice pix, after seeing them I am considering going back to my original opinion and going with 18" rims. All my buddies are telling me I need 20" but I don't know.

18 or 20s will loook a little small unless you wrap them in some really beefy meats.

Heck, even 22s look small sometimes

Thanks... I think 20" rims looks good with a 6" or 8" lift with some 36" or 37" tires other then that I'll stick with 18". Just my 2 cents...

Nice ride! That's how we roll down here in South Florida too, more sports car look than truck. I'm kind of a tweener, I can flow with either look. How is the ride difference in the "small-rim-big-tire" v.s "big-rim-lowpro-tire"? I'm all about comfort ands smooth speed and I have no hills to climb so leaning toward the mid range.

I agree with Lumadar, I'd go with at least 22's or you will regret it later.

Thanks Brian. My wheels are by MB Motoring "Rocker" (www.wheelsbymbmotoring.com) and they are sold exclusively through Discount Tire (www.discounttire.com). They are 16 x 8 (probably close to factory off-set and backspacing. My old stock wheels were 16 x 7.5).
Tires are P265/70R16's, I beleive one size up from stock (P255/70R16). I purchased my truck used in 2004 and these tires were already on the rig.
I have a couple of close-ups of the wheels in my gallery.

IMO, I think something like this would look good on your truck.
Good luck!
