Biggest spare tire that will fit under the bed?

2000 f150 lariet 4x4. I am putting a 3" PA Body lift on it and haven't decided to go with 33s or 35s...

Does anyone know what the biggest tire I can cram into the space where my stock spare sits now?

If I do get a a flat by chance, is there anyway I could use a stock spare to drive on at all until I reach a shop?

I'm trying to avoid buying 5 16" rims if I can and use one of the stock 17" OEM rims and also would like to have it not sit in my bed but under it. Is this even possible?

Thanks

Several members at FTW have fit 35 inch tires in the OEM spare location on 97-03 F-150's. Personally, I think you will be fine with a different size spare in an emergency situation.

I think a 285/75R16 (33" diamater) tire is about the biggest I have heard of, but I havent tested it myself and I cant say for sure so it may be possible to fit a bigger tire under there.

In any case, you can run the stock size spare tire, just make sure to run it on one of the front locations (two different size tires is bad for your differential) and DONT engage 4WD while the spare is in use (as long as its a different diameter than the other tires).

I've heard that running two different sizes on the rear is bad for limited slip differentials. However, every performance car that I've owned in the past with a limited slip rear end came with a mini-spare.
