biggest Tire size for a stock 2000 F150 4x4?

Was about to purcase a 2000 F-150 and have already started thinking about a small lift 2" and 35 Mud Terrain BF TA's.

A few questions...How wide should I go with the rims to make sure it has a nice stance and not pizza cutter looking?

What setup would you guys suggest?

If I dont get the lift how wide/high would you suggest? With the same tire's?

I really appreciate any help and will be sure to post pics when finished..

If your truck is like mine, an 03' FX4, you'll need at least that much lift to get 35's under it. I have 285/70/17's (basically 33's), on 17x9 wheels, and I still had to crank the torsion bars a half inch (no aftermarket lift), and shave the front valance a tad.

If your going to lift it, 35's would look nice on 17x10's.

35's fit with OEM wheels on stock 4x4's. 3" body lift looks better w/ 35's, though.

They didn't fit with my OEM 17's. When you turned the wheels they grabbed the front valance and popped there way through.

All you need to do is trim a little plastic off the front valance to fix that.
As for the original question, I'd go with a 3 inch body lift, crank up the torsion bars and go with the 35x12.50's on a 10 inch wide wheel.
