Nitto vs. BFG vs. ProComp

I really like BFG AT's (got 50k out of a set on my last truck) but I am looking at the ProComp Xtreme AT's with the 4wheelparts deal right now. I really don't like the Nitto TG's but just thought I'd throw them in to get opinions b/c they are cheaper. Which tire is going to perform best on and off road? I don't do a ton of offroading but do hunt, fish, and camp a lot and need that extra traction sometimes.

Thumbs down

Get the BFG ATs. Pro Comp AT look like a p*ssy street tire at best.

I'm looking at the Xtreme AT's not regular ProComp AT's. Very nice truck by the way Lumadar!

Thank you!

In that case, I still feel the BFg is a better, more proven tire..but go with whatever fits the budget best, or is the most appealling to you. Both would be a decent tire.

I had the BFG's for years on a full size Bronco. Can't go wrong with them. Now though, I have the Nitto's on my F150. I live outside Denver and work in the mountains. I've had to drive through 3 or 4 bad snow and ice storms already and my Terra Grapplers are champs! I really like them, and it's nice to have a new alternative since it seems like everybody is running BFG's. The guy who I got the Grapplers from at Discount Tire, lives in the mountains and says that his wife has the Grapplers on her Excursion also, and that they're great. Can't say much about the pro-comps, I'm not a fan though.

I guess I’ll have to be the odd ball & say go with the Pro Comp XATs. It’s a great tire with killer looks to boot! Also, I had no luck with the BFG AT tires off roading they tend to pack with dirt & snow to easy making a big ol’ slick tire. Just proving that there is no real all terrain tire. But those Pro Comp XATs are as close as your gonna get . I’m goin’ to jump on the Pro Comp Mud Terrains that 4 wheel parts has. Just to try something different. I wish Kumho would make there new Road Venture MT KL71’s in a 33/12.5017 That’s a nice tire!! WAKE UP KUMHO

they do that 2x a year in october right now actually, and in march or aprile, but the cost of the procomps are so expensive that your paying as much for 3 procomps then 4 of something else, they are way overpriced,

bfg is a great tire. BUt Nitto and toyo make the best tires, obviously that is just my opinion but the technology that they use to biuld there tires are better then anyone elses and the same technology is available to other tire companies but they are to cheap to use it and build a better tire.

I just don't like the Nitto TG's that much. They aren't that aggressive to me especially compared to the BFG AT's. I've also heard of people only getting 30-35k out of the Nitto TG's as opposed to 45-60k out of the BFG AT's. Between the two, it's a no brainer in my book. How many miles can you expect out of the Nitto MG's? I do like them and they come in a 33x12.50.

Well... What do you expect for a big all terrain tire? I think the nittos would do way better off road than the bfg's, but thats just me. The whole buy 3 get 1 free deal is just a scam. Look at the price for each of the tires, you buy3 get 1 free from them, or buy 4 from anyone else for the same price as you paid for 3. They jack up the price to make you think your getting a deal.

I don't see how the Nitto's would do any better off road than the BFG's plus if I could get 20k more out of them great! I didn't think the price per tire increased that much.

I don't know about the other tires but the NIttos are pretty good. Pretty cheap $ 210 a piece and guaranteed for 50k miles with road hazard warranty but of course that was extra.
