The brakes work very well. It does stop on a dime. Along with the Russell SS brake lines the brake feel is much improved. Most of the time I only need to use light pressure for normal stopping. I have more control over hard braking as well with the ability to confidently regulate near wheel lockup pressures. It feels like I'm driving a truck that is much lighter than it was before and I am still using the stock brake pads.

I don't think the 18" spare will work up front. So If I get a flat up front I'll just have to change two tires. A little more work. I wonder what a 20" spare would cost?

$600 & some change??? Where did you get them from?? The 4x2's kit I've found are $800+. (part# 2261029)

Where did you buy your rotors from because I have looking online and can only find them for 850+. I have a 05 F150 King Ranch with 22' rims that I want to upgrade my rotors on. Thanks.

Sorry about that, I think I was quoting the 4x4 prices which are lower. The best price I have found was here. Which is in the $800.00 price range.

Wonder what the difference is between the 4x4 kit and the 4x2 kit???? Anyone know if the 4x4 parts OEM parts could be adapted to the 4x2 to just purchase the 4x4 kit and save a $100 or so between the two kits??

Yes, the difference is that the 4x4 is just the rotor and the 4x2 is a rotor and hub. The stock disc brake on the 4x2 is one large and heavy cast iron hub and rotor in one. The Baer kit provides an aluminum hub, bearings and a zinc washed cast iron rotor.

No, they cannot be adapted.

Hmm I`m suprised these work better. There`s more inertia to stop, and the braking surface area is the same since bigger or better calipers aren`t used...
I would think it would be a purely cosmetic mod.
Bear does make some really great stuff thou.. I had the 2 piece rotors on my Firehawk, they were a very quality piece.
The mushy feel of the F-150 brakes is kinda bad.. I~m hoping some braided steel lines will solve that?

Yes, but because the rotors are two inches larger in diameter then stock they are clamping down on the rotor an inch further away providing the caliper a greater mechanical advantage and although there isn't any more pad surface area there is more surface area for the pad to use. I also installed Russell SS brake lines which provide a better feel.

Auto Parts Warehouse, they were hard to find. This is a three line kit. As far as I can tell there is no five line kit so the lines that go to the calipers on the rear stay rubber.
