315-70-17 Tires on 06 F-150

Quick question, these will require the 2.5" spacer right? The 2" would probably end up with some rubbing?

Just asking because I found a set of almost new BFG AT's on Pro Comp Alloys for sale for $800. Hard to pass up that price, but I want to make sure I can fit them.

Just make sure they fit over the calipers. Some aftermarket 17" wheels do not fit. Otherwsie, yes the tires will fit with a leveling kit.

Keep in mind the members running 315/70-17's are useing the OEM wheels and a leveling kit. Running wider aftermarket wheels with different backspacing changes everything. What is the width and backspacing on the Pro Comp wheels?

I'll have to measure and ckeck the rim width and backspacing. Stock 18" wheels (which is what I have) are 6" of backspacing and 8" wide right? The tires & wheels I bought came off an 04' F-150, so I'm assuming that the calipers didn't change between 04' and 06'. The guy told me he had minor rubbing with a 2" leveling kit.

One other question, I'd have no problems installing a leveling kit, but my local dealership has one as well that they would install and also said it wouldn't void any of the factory warranty. I'm not sure yet if its a 2" or 2.5" inch. Considering the issues that some people on here have had with front ball joints due to leveling kits, do you think it's worth it to let my stealership install their leveling kit?

Your 18" stock rims are 7.5" wide with a 5.5" backspace, and yes they did change the calipers on late production 05's.

Pulled a little more information...

http://www.truckaddons.com/catalog/s...eries_1069.htm

The rims are the 17 x 9 1069 ProComp with 4.75" of backspace. I'm guessing it's going to be very close on rubbing even with the 2.5" leveling kit.

Also, any thoughts on letting my stealership install?

Wow, for the price I can hardly let the stealership do the work. The want $200 for a 2.5" Daystar kit and another $240 (4 hours) for an install. That's alot of coin to retain my factory warranty.

4 hours to install the Leveling kit? Are they crazy!!!

It's took 2h30 MAX to put my procomp leveling kit on my old Titan.

I just put ProComp Alloys on mine (17") if they are fairly new, they won't have a problem clearing the calipers. The change in caliper size was done on all model after May 31, 2005 manufacture date.

Here are the stats on the 315's, pretty close to 35's which probably will = rubbing.

Width: 12.40 inches
Diameter: 34.36 inches
Sidewall: 8.68 inches

So do you get any rubbing? Because my tires are very close in size to yours and your rims are very close in stats as mine.
