I have an 04 FX4 with the 18" rim. I need new tires and i'm sticker shocked by the price of tires. Can someone recommend a reasonable priced tire?

Also, are there larger sizes that would fit such as a 33 or 35. I'm completely stock right now but have a set of front coil spacers to level the truck. I just need to put them on at some point. So here are my questions

1. Do the coil spacers 2.5" cause any issues ?
2. What are some reasonable priced tires in the stock 275/65/18
3. are there larger sizes like 33 or 35s I can run without rubbing etc.

 

Your stock tires are almost 33 inches tall. As a general rule, with a 2.5 inch leveling kit, you can fit 35x12.50's using the OEM wheels or 33's using aftermarket wheels. Keep in mind, with tires, you tend to get what you pay for. I'd suggest looking at the BFG AT KO's, Nitto Terra Grapplers, Toyo Open Country AT's, **** Cepek Radial FC II, Mickey THompson ATZ's and Pro Comp Xtreme AT's. 325/60-18 (33x13.00) is a pretty commom size, but it's a little too wide for the OEM 7.5 inch wide wheels. However, several members here are running that size with no problems.

 

do the leveling kits create an issue with the ball joints?

 

A few people have reported issues with premature ball joint wear, most have had no problems at all.
