'81 F150 4X4 rotors

Hi all,

New to this forum, looks like a great place.

I bought new rotors and calipers for my truck but can't seem to get the rotors off. My Haynes manual is totally useless for this. I'm just wondering if I have to get into the hub and bearings to replace the rotors or do they just "pull" off the lugs.

Thanks for any help.

Frank

No, it's much more in-depth than that. Click my signature link & look in the Brakes & Hubs album. Everything is explained...

Thanks and another question

Thanks Steve that's what I needed but it looks a little more in-depth than I wanted to go, I think I'll bring it in to get those replaced.

One other question. I can't seem to find new banjo bolts to attach the brake line to the caliper. Any ideas???

Thanks,
Frank

I've never needed new bolts, but you might be able to get them in new calipers, which cost ~$12. How did you trash yours?

I just put on new calipers and they didn't come with the banjo bolts. The bolts that were on there had enough rust flake off from the bolt head that I couldn't use a socket or wrench to get it off. Had to use one of those stripped bolt removers to get them out. They're still in good shape I just have no way to get them on tight. I did find a parts place that called a manufacturer that still had 4 of these left. I ordered them and should have them in a week.

Thanks for the help,
Frank
