What backspacing to use with 6inch procomp and 37x13.5???

Finally I got some stuff. I got a 6in pro comp lift, 3in Body lift, 305/70R17 Maxxis Bighorns mounted on 17x9 mickey thompson classic locks (mounted/balanced ready to go), front and rear 4.56 gears w/ master install kits, rear gap gaurds (Can you buy just the front ones?), and lugs, center caps, and a few misc things like a truck cover, ect. I bought all this stuff from a guy who bought it all and never got around to installing it. Most of it was not even opened.

All I need now is the truck, lol, I got a 2x4 now, but hopefully I'll have enough for the 4x4 within a few months, and then I'll already have all the stuff to put on it. This deal was to go to pass up.

Anyway, I plan on selling those Bighorns/and classic locks(If your interested in them check out the classified section) and getting some 37x13.5's on 17's.

I have a few questions though. First of all what back spacing should I use? I know the procomp doesn't allow more than 5in. I was thinking 4.75in or 5in? What do you all think?

Also does anyone know what backspacing this truck is using?

I think they only make those rims in 4.75? Is that right?

Also does anyone know if I will have any rubbing with this setup? It seems a little tight on the truck in the picture, would there be more room on a 4x4 truck? I know 4x4's are 2in taller, does this extra 2in remain after the lift?

Thanks

THose look like 17x9's with 5 inches of backspacing. Personally, I'd want 5.5 or 6 inches of backspacing on a 9 inch wide wheel. I belive you can fit 37's with 9 inches of lift on a 4x2 but it will be tight.

I am planning on getting a 4x4, to put all this stuff on, so it should clear better than the one pictured. I looked up those rims in that picture, and I think they only come in 4.75in backspacing is that right? I would think 4.75 would stick out more than that? I have read that with the procomp you cannot go more than 5in backspacing cause the rim will hit tie rods is that true?

Thanks

I'm not sure. Contact Pro Comp and ask them.

Now that's weird. However, the tie rod hitting the coilover shock has nothing to do with the wheels.

never really have liked pro comps products

havent seen this happen to any 04-06 weve lifted
(except we use rancho, sky-jacker, fabtech, & rize)
