Ok I think I'll go with the 295s then. I'm on limited funds here so the 16x8 wheels with these tires is the most I can afford. The 295s came out to be a little less than a 33x12.5. They are something around 33x12 which sounds fine with me.

Not to add to the confusion, but why not go with the 305/70-16 (33x12.50) BFG AT KO?

Yea sorry I forgot to mention that I can get a buddy to get me a deal on either the 285s or 295s. I'm only in high school, I wish I could have the money to afford a really nice set-up but this is what I'm going to have to deal with...

Nitto has a terra grappler in a 295, I just got them on today. I also put all the other stuff on my truck. So far so good with the tire.

Hey MLSman sounds good. Are you staying with stock suspension with the 295s? How about rims?

So a BFG AT 315/70/R17 will not fit my stock 03 F150 on oem rims? What would I need to do to make this tire fit? Also how wide are my stock rims? Thanks for everyones input on this.

Yes, you can fit the 315's on your 4x4 by using the OEM 17x7.5 inch wheels. You will have some rubbing on the frame at full steering lock.

I know I started out not wanting to modify my truck but now I'm curious. There are a lot of good deals on 315 Hummer take off's out there so just out of curiosity what would it take (assuming it can be done) to make the 315's work on my OEM rims and not have any rubbing?

The rubbing using OEM wheels and 315/70-17's is mainly on the frame at full steering lock. A body lift will not cure that. That can be cured with a suspension lift or use of a wider wheel which will push the tire outward slightly. The problem with that is it will cause rubbing on the rear of the wheelwells and valance.
