Bigger wheels, Bigger tires, Bigger brakes?

Well, heres my question of the day which in the eyes of most dealers seems to me the million dollar question that cant be answered! I just recently installed 20" mb motoring wheels with 33" nitto mud grapplers on my 05 reg cab 4X4. I was originally told i dont need bigger brakes. Then I was. Then I wasnt..then I was again...catch my drift? I was told that i should be fine with the stock brakes up to 22", but sometimes it feels hard to stop the truck, I mean don't get me wrong, I can stop, its just tough sometimes. I really have to push hard. Can I just get the brakes tightened and adjusted, or should I go with bigger brakes? I will only have the wheels on in the good weather. Thanks

Brakes are always a good upgrade, but not a necessity. It just depends on how you feel.

Yeah, thats what I figured. Im guessing its harder to stop because they are heavier, but does that mean that my brakes are wearing more? Will better pads help? Thanks wandell

Cool...Thanks a lot. Do you reccomend any pads? Did you upgrade the brakes for your wheels?

I replaced my OEM brake pads on my Screw with ceramic Bendix pads when they wore out.

Did the truck feel better when you replaced the pads?

I didn't really notice much of an increase in braking power, but there sure is less brake dust!
