Wheel spacers

What are your opinions of wheel spacers for a 1999 F-150 4x4?
I'm looking at a set of 4 that are 1.5 inches thick. That would bring my factory wheels and tires (305 70R 16) out to edge of factory fender flares.

Usually, they cause more problems than they solve (increased wear and tear and fitment problems). However, some members here and at FTW have used the bolt on type with no problems. Personally, I'd use the money you were gonna spend on spacers to go on a set of 16x10 inch aftermarket wheels.

Not to mention you will need longer lugs on all wheels.

uuummm no you wont..... the spacers come with built in new lugs offset to the side of the old ones. wheel spacers are fine i know plenty of people who have them and know problems. but if you do have really large tires.... bigger then a 35" then you could have a small issue with tire ware just keep them allined and rotate often.
