Wear on inside of front tires?

Wear on inside of front tires?

Hey guys I got an '04, I noticed the other day I have cord showing on the inside of my passenger front tire...40k miles...rest of the tire is in great shape...took it to aliment shop.. guy said he check it 3 times and my alinement is right on....any ideas why Im getting such extreme wear on the inside sholder of my tire?

The only thing I can think of that would cause that is alignment. Take it to a dealer for an alignment. Maybe the alignment shop does not have the correct settings.

Alignment. I don't think anything else can cause that. Shocks would cause cupping. It could be a tie rod end but they should have seen that when they did the alignment.

Does the vehicle drive straight?
tie rods can cause this.
You may have a bum tire too. Front ends should be good till 70k. I actually didnt replace my shocks and bushings (control arms too) untill 110k i think
:P

how exactly do the tie rod ends make it do that? mine has 95k miles and no front end parts have been changed. got it aligned yesterday and it still wants to wander either left or right occasionally

Yeah I was thinking that to..........the shop mechanic mentioned a chamfer bolt ? has anyone ever changed one ....and why would it just go bad?

They don't go bad, but other parts of the suspension do wear. To the point of what is there can not be adjusted. Ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. If he is suggesting that, how can he say that the front end is in alignment?
Definitely get it someplace where they know what they are doing.
