tire size difference

Hey guys this might be a dumb question but since I've never owned a LS differential I thought I would ask.

I have to get 1 new tire due to side wall puncture. The tires are the General Ameritrac TR 255/70/17(factory tires). I have about 24,000 miles on them. The new tire is currently on the rear axle. Will the small difference in diameter have any ill effects on the rear axle? I know you should have completely different sizes but this is just the difference of new diameter verses diameter of old.

Thanks

Probably won't matter. If you are concerned, why not swap the new rear tire with one of the worn front ones??

agree, or go ahead and rotate, ride for 5k miles or 2 oil changes and rotate as usual on out.

Really you have nothing to even be concerned about.

Or simply keep the tire in the rear and power brake it until you feel the tread has been sufficiently worn! Problem solved
