Exclamation 2001 SuperCrew f150 Brake Pads

Having changed them for the 1st time just now, I thought I'd place a simple how to like the one I looked for here before I started~

This is for the guys looking from this point forth

As referenced in other threads, remove the upper & lower [18mm bolts] to free the caplier - someone here said just back out the top one & swing it down - that didn't work for me
  • Slide out the caplier housing, remove the old pads
  • Use a C-clamp (4 inch) to compress the pistons
  • Snap in new pads beginning with the one farthest from you -
  • Clip them in by pushing DOWN on the spring loaded area and then pushing the top half in.
  • Slip the caplier w/ new pads back onto the rotor from the bottom up, inserting the lower bolt 1st - this was easier for me
  • Tighten up, replace your wheel, cap & you saved 100 bucks or more depending on the pads you choose.
NOTE OF MENTION:
I did not mention the obvious cleaning, lubrication, clamp inspection/replacement, break line twist, tork, etc. This is interpretive common sense.
