Leveling kit, new tires on '05 SCrew...
I am looking to put a leveling kit on my '05 SCrew XLT 5.4L 4x2 along with new tires. I want an aggressive looking all-terrain tire in a 285/70R17 size as I will be using the stock rims. I mostly do on-road highway driving but do a little bit of weekend warrior stuff.
From what I've read on here, I've narrowed it down to the BFG A/T KO's and the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's. I love the aggressive look of the BFG's, but at over $200 a tire, it's tough to justify them based solely on looks when the Revo's can be had for much less. Do the BFGs offer a much greater tread life? Are they significantly quieter on road? Are the Revo's "aggressive enough" to rival the looks of the BFGs?
Hopefully these are not silly questions. Basically I'm trying to make the truck look like a truck by getting rid of the Continentals that it came with and putting some 33" A/Ts on there to make it look and act a little "tougher."
Thanks a ton guys!

Bfg!!!
I cannot speak for the other, but the BFG's are a very nice tire "looks and performance". They take a good beating, I have 24,000 miles on mine and they still look new and show no noticeable wear in tread life, it is still very deep. I drive 90% highway and rest off road. I have been in all the elements and never had issues with performance. I only paid $170.00 at NTB, national Tire and Battery, check them out...

I'm in California, so no NTB here. $170 for the 285-70-17 is killer.
I see that 4 Wheel Parts is running a deal where they will install the BFGs for free. The total for the four tires is around $850. What other charges can I expect? The price is steep, but if they will last 60,000 miles plus, that would be huge compared to paying $500 for crappy tires that wear out in 25,000 miles (like the stock Continentals did).
Also, is the 2" leveling kit the way to go or the 2.5"? I don't want the bulldog look, just a nice, level look. No more dropped nose!

Revo's
I got 60k out of a set of Revo's and never had a problem with them. BFG is a great tire, but their prices show they are really proud of their product. I have always been a BFG fan, but their current prices are making me shop for other brands. I don't think you would be dissapointed with the Revo's.
