new goodyear tire decision

I have decided to go with the goodyear wrangler silent armor tires since I get a nice discount on GYs. I'd like some 33's for my oem 18" wheels but the only 33s they have are E rated. Will that make a lot of difference compared to my oem wrangler ats'?? I have a 04 Scab FX4.
Thanks everyone!!!

i've got approx 9000km on my D rated silent armors on my screw and love them. look great and are wearing great. handle excellent in snow and rain without to much road noise. a lot better then the factory RTS that were on it. i did get 90000km (approx 50000miles) out of those so i can't really complain. not sure how much different the E rated tire is compared to these D's thou but i can't see those being much different then your stocks.

I went from POS stock generals that went out around 26k for one set and 30k for the other set, and now im at 44k and the goodyear fortera's SA that were rated for 80k are just about wore out. Im gonna be lucky to squeeze 20k out of both sets... Sucks but it will be nice b.c i get a prorated warranty on them, so i get 3/4ths off my next set of goodyears

your lucky Patman, we get no road hazard warranty on these tires here in Canada . i believe the US has 50000 mile road hazard on these right? with the price of tires nowadays it's a pretty expensive investment and they won't stand behind them.

can't figure out why that would be, our roads here are in Southwest Ontario are 100% better then any road over in Detroit.

I think the "E" would be a good thing, like a lot more strength or something, mine are "D" and if memory serves, the higher the alphabet, the stronger. I love mine, see pics.

E rated tires

Remember that E rated tires are rated for heavier loads so therefore they have a lot stiffer sidewalls which will lead to a much stiffer ride, look at the sidewall of your tires that you currently have to see what the rating is on them. My GoodYear AT/S's that came on my truck from the factory are LT275/65/18 Load Range "C"
Load Range C = 6 ply
D = 8 ply
E = 10 ply
The more ply's the stiffer the tire and the stiffer the ride, but they are good if you do a lot of towing.

I love E-rated tires. I like knowing that my tires are not going to fail when I load the truck up with a crapload of weight.
